Forget the Mothman. It’s his minions you have to worry about!
Iowa and Illinois are known for their cornfields but this year, they produced a bumper crop of Shadflies. The Mississippi River, which runs between the two states, and it’s backwaters are the perfect breeding ground for these insects and they were calling in the DOT and their snow plows to move these bugs from the roads and bridges last weekend!! We think the snow on the east coast is bad, but at least snow doesn’t bite!
