The Clarion Project, a neocon nonprofit that has produced videos warning of the dangers of Islam, has released a study claiming 42 million Muslims support the Islamic State and its brutality.
Ryan Mauro told the Daily Express “ISIS is only a fraction of what it could potentially become.”
He talked with Fox News earlier this week.
“If we don’t act quickly, this is still going to grow – and what we’re looking at today is going to look like the good old days compared to the future,” he said.
The Clarion Project report is based on figures from a March 2015 poll by the Iraq-based Independent Institute for Administration and Civil Society Studies, a November 2014 poll by Zogby Research Services, a November 2014 poll by the Doha-based Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies and an October 2014 poll by the Fikra Forum commissioned by the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, according to Fox News.
In October, David Horowitz’s Freedom Center claimed 80% of Muslims in London support ISIS. “Good luck with your integration and your moderate Islam,” wrote Daniel Greenfield.
Clarion was founded in 2006 by Raphael Shore, an Israeli rabbi, and its advisory board has included a number of neocons, including Frank Gaffney of the Center for Security Policy, Daniel Pipes of the Middle East Forum and staffers under Douglas Feith who worked in the Donald Rumsfeld Pentagon during the invasion of Iraq.
The group no longer provides public information on its members and leadership.
In 2008 Clarion was accused by the Council on American-Islamic Relations of being “an Israel-based group seeking to help Sen. John McCain win the U.S. presidential election.”
