Here in the US we’ve watched from afar as Europe opened its borders to millions of refugees from Syria and other Middle Eastern countries. We’ve seen what this leads to. There have been countless reports of refugees sexually assaulting young girls all over Europe, most which seem to occur in public swimming pools. Now that the US is letting these people settle here, we’re starting to see the same thing occur in our public swimming pools.
A 22-year-old Syrian refugee was recently arrested for inappropriately touching a 13-year-old girl at a public swimming pool in Massachusetts. Emad Hasso had only been living in the US for two months when the attack occurred. On Friday he was sent to court, where he pleaded not guilty to charges of indecent assault and battery on someone younger than 16.
According to the girl, Emad approached her at the pool and touched her upper thigh before asking her how old she was. The girl tried to walk away, but Emad followed her around the pool, and again touched her and asked how old she was. She responded that she was a “little kid” and to “leave me alone.”
Eventually the lifeguard noticed what was going on and intervened, which led to Emad’s arrest. He has been ordered by a judge to stay away from the girl and the swimming pool, and to avoid contact with anyone younger than 16 except for family members. Emad is expected to go back to court on July 29th for a pretrial conference.
