Is this little stunt supposed to buy her votes? Though she did not specifically say it, Hillary’s statements sound like they might come from Mitt Romney or Donald Trump… albeit with considerably less brash language. In her first exclusive interview as a Presidential Candidate… with Brianna Keillar on CNN on Tuesday… Hillary Clinton showed herself to be less a public servant than an ambitious politician. The policies she discussed actually agree with republicans like Mitt Romney and Donald Trump while giving lip service to despising them. Most powerfully, she spends more time talking about herself than really anything else. With phrases like “…running my campaign my way…” and “what I will do for the American people…” she sounds less like noble candidate predecessors such as FDR and Thomas Jefferson and more like self-centered winners like William McKinley and Woodrow Wilson. Adamant in her refusal to fess up to any kind of wrongdoing, she stated flat-out that “Everything I did was permitted, there was no law, there was no regulation, there was nothing that did not give me the full authority to decide how I was going to communicate. Previous secretaries of State have said they did the same thing and people across the government knew that I used one device. Maybe it was because I am not the most technically capable person and wanted to make it as simple as possible.” Taking no responsibility at all for her actions, she makes it clear that if Americans do not find her trustworthy, it is because Republicans have slandered her. Nothing about what is right or wrong… all about justification by comparison.
This is a candidate for President of the United States.
