Maybe the DEA needs to do a sweep of the State Department because this claim, from their official blog, had to’ve been written by someone smoking something. A list of mostly ridiculous “diplomatic achievements” for 2015 has been posted and it’s really jaw-dropping.
Writing on the agency’s official blog, the departments spokesperson John Kirby includes a bold subheadline of “Bringing Peace, Security to Syria” above a slightly more modest entry that refers to the U.S. aid for those affected by the country’s turmoil and the U.S. push for a political transition from President Bashar Assad.
U.S. aid to Syria has hardly brought that country, and it’s people, peace and security. Syria has had fives years of war, numerous radical, terrorist groups fighting for control, outside interests trying to oust Assad, approximately 250,000 people killed and 11 million refugees fleeing to Europe.
This certainly doesn’t sound like peace and security, does it? But what can we expect from an agency who thought the American people would believe Benghazi happened because of a video?
