Dalene Bowden was fired last week, right before Christmas, from a job she’d been at for the past three years and loved. She was originally told she was being suspended indefinitely, then received her termination letter in the mail and it didn’t even include her final paycheck.
Dalene worked at Irving Middle School in the Pocatello/Chubbuck School District in Idaho as a cafeteria worker. When she was approached by a 12-year-old girl who couldn’t afford lunch, Dalene gave her a tray with food and was reported by her supervisor. Her offer to pay for the $1.70 lunch was rejected. Of course, this was Ms. Bowden’s second offense, she’d already received a warning after being caught giving a kid a free cookie.
